The people that have kept this vintage gear in working condition for the last 30 - 40 years deserve their money. I remember when Blackmagic first bought Teranex, the first model had composite and component video inputs - but I guess no one bought it - so just abandoned that - and the lowest input on any of those models is SDI (for SDI NTSC video). This gentleman (perhaps it's a woman - but I doubt that !) - has a 3/4" VTR with "red and white RCA plugs for the audio" - which means it's one of the low end Sony 3/4" screening decks - probably from the VO-5000 series (not even the VO-9800 or 9850) - so a TBC, even in perfect working condition would not work for his 3/4" VTR. But without and Advanced Sync, Subcarrier and DOC BNC on the 3/4" VTR, the TBC is just that - a Time Base Corrector. It had a big fat multicable that would connect to the BVU series machines (the later BVU-850's had internal TBC cards). ! The TBC-800 was for the BVU-800 and BVU-820.
